Jennifer Jallo, President
Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer Jallo and I will be serving as your President for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a Senior majoring in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. Along with my role in AED, I am the Director of Administration for the Medical Response Unit on campus, work as a Certified Medical Assistant, and participate as a research student in Dr. Tang's virology lab. In my free time I love to work out and hang with my friends. My main goal for this year is to encourage more member participation in events that directly benefit our local Tallahassee community. I believe many qualities that I have acquired throughout my undergraduate career will allow me to become a trusted and respected Pediatrician one day. Hello! My name is Alyssa Poe and I will be serving as your Vice President for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a Senior majoring in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. Along with my role in AED, I am also a member of HERO, I volunteer at Big Bend Hospice and I conduct Virology research in the Biology Department in hopes to complete my Honors Thesis. I anticipate to go to medical school to become a Pediatric Cardiothoracic surgeon. While I am not dedicating my time to my studies, I enjoy going for hikes and running. Karen Wetzel, Treasurer
Hey everyone!! My name is Karen Wetzel and I will be serving as your Treasurer this
upcoming academic year. I am currently a Junior majoring in Psychology, with a
minor in Criminology, Chemistry, and Biology. Someday, I want to be a psychiatrist
because mental health is extremely important to me. Outside of school, I love
cooking, riding my horse, going on road trips, and playing piano. I hope to help AED
stay well-organized and within our budget this year. I am always open for questions
about getting involved or if you just need someone to talk to!
Alyssa Rogers, Secretary
Hello everyone! My name is Alyssa Rogers and I will be serving as your Secretary for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a senior majoring in Biology, with a minor in both Chemistry and Italian, respectively. Along with my role in AED, I am also involved in the American Medical Women’s Association and Who We Play For. I have plans on attending medical school and focusing my sights on maternal-fetal medicine. When I’m not in class or studying, I love to read, watch documentaries, and spend time with friends. I’m super excited to increase involvement and make sure AED members are aware of all the awesome things we’ll be doing this year! Zachary Louah, Technology Chair
Hello everyone! My name is Zachary Louah and I will be serving as your Technology Chair for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a Junior majoring in Biology, with a minor in Business. Along with my role in AED, I am also a volunteer for Big Brother, the Tallahassee Animal Shelter, TMH mobility clinic, and a member of NAMI. I am pursuing a career in Neurology with hopes to work as a pediatric surgeon. I enjoy reading and global traveling in my free time. Gabriella Marquez, Historian
Hi everyone, my name is Gabriella Marquez and I will be serving as your historian for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a junior majoring in exercise science, with minors in chemistry and biology. I hope to pursue a career in nursing and eventually become a CRNA. Along with my role in AED, I am also a member of the world renowned Florida State University Marching Chiefs. In my free time I am a brother of the honorary music service fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi, and I serve as a big sister with BBBS. Alex Mathis, Special Events Chair
Hi! My name is Alex Mathis and I will be serving as your Special Events Chair for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a senior majoring in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. Along with my role in AED, I am also in other pre-health organizations, a sorority, and spend most of my time volunteering. I am currently applying to medical schools with dreams of becoming an Emergency Medicine physician. This year in AED I hope to have lots of member involvement in special events and excitement for the organizations we are supporting! Kara Harris, Service Chair
Hey guys! My name is Kara Harris and I will be acting as your service chair for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a senior majoring in Exercise Physiology, with a minor in chemistry and biology Along with my role in AED, I am also an ER scribe at Capital Regional Medical Center. In my free time, I love going to the gym and spending time with my family. I hope to make this year the best one yet! Christy Dever, Mentor Program Director
Christy Dever is the Mentor Program Director for the Florida Beta Chapter of Alpha Epsilon
Delta. She is currently a Junior majoring in Exercise Physiology on the pre-med track at Florida
State University. She plays water polo and spends much of her free time volunteering at
Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Christy will be coordinating the mentor mentee program for the
2018-2019 school year. This program allows underclassmen to be paired with upperclassmen
with similar interests and career goals to provide useful advice. In addition, the upperclassmen
or mentors in this program will be provided opportunities to meet with current medical
students to answer many of their questions regarding the application process and medical
Danielle Stevenson, Membership & PR Chair
Hey everyone! My name is Danielle Stevenson, and I will be serving as your Membership and Public Relations Chair for the 2018-2019 academic year. I am currently a senior majoring in Exercise Physiology, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. Along with my role in AED, I am also involved with the Health Science Consulting Clinical Assistant Prep Course. As a medical assistant, I will be able to hopefully achieve my goal of becoming a Physician or Physician’s Assistant. Additionally, I enjoy playing sports and exploring the outdoors, especially the beach because I am originally from Southwest Florida. I am extremely excited to work alongside AED’s 2018-2019 Executive Board in order to give continued support to our members both academically and socially. Natalie Henderson, Missions Director
Hey Y’all! My name is Natalie Henderson and I will be serving as your Medical Mission Outreach Director for this upcoming academic year. I am currently a Senior majoring in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences. I participate in research at FSU College of Medicine where I plan to attend as a medical student. My career goals include becoming a medical doctor and practicing as a primary care physician in Wakulla County and to continue my medical mission work. In my free time I blog, craft or nap with my dogs. I hope to contribute to AED’s welcoming environment and lay the foundation for a medical ministry through AED in Nicaragua. I transferred to FSU from a community college and am a first generation college student. I know what it’s like to be lost, so if I can help you in any way please reach out to me!
